Young people and cooperativism
Social economy, a lever for change in youth employment
Social economy companies offer better working conditions for youth employment and they promote their collective access to entrepreneurship
The social economy is transforming the way employment and wealth are generated. This model, based on cooperation, equity, and the common good, includes cooperatives, associations, foundations, and social enterprises that seek a positive impact beyond economic profit. From fair trade to sustainable production, more and more initiatives are proving that business can be conducted responsibly.
This approach aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as it promotes inclusion, decent work, and sustainable development. In key sectors such as education, energy, and healthcare, social economy entities are providing innovative and accessible solutions. A notable example is health cooperatives, which ensure patient-centred medical care, encourage active participation from their members, and provide accessible, high-quality services.
