Espriu Fundation's Managing Director, Carlos Zarco, participated on June 20, as president of the International Organization of Health Cooperatives (IHCO), in a meeting that took place in Geneva (Switzerland) where they were present various representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development and other international organizations, such as the Réseau Education et Solidarité and the NorWest Co-op Community Health.

Zarco explained, during his speech, the keys of the sanitary cooperativism and its forms as well as the different experiences developed in many countries around the world. In this regard, the Espriu Foundation's director mentioned the current situation of this model in Argentina, Brazil, Australia, Turkey, Canada, Japan and Spain.

In all our country, specifically, the president of the IHCO noted that "the health cooperative network of Espriu serves more than 2.3 million people and it has more than 181,000 members of cooperatives." Likewise, Carlos Zarco lay on the table the way in which this health model can favor the extension of health coverage in low and middle income countries, contributing, in this way, to the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal number 3, included in the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and linked to health and well-being.
